About the Role and Responsibilities
Location: Plano, TX
About the Role:
This position reports directly into the Senior Manager, Global Sales Finance and is part of the Worldwide Sales Finance team responsible for all Finance Operations globally.
This position is primarily responsible for analyses about our business by analyzing data from our management information systems and working closely with the Sales and Theater finance teams. The Analyst will play a role in helping optimize business performance across multiple product offerings and customer segments. The Analyst will focus on supporting multiple sales teams and the ability to handle multiple projects is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business partner with VPs in sales to analyze and install finance support structure
- Drive the optimization of sales efforts via data analysis and decision support
- Support territory development and compensation plan design
- Maintain budget and ensure supported organization remains under budget
- Perform monthly expense variance analyses
- Perform quarterly bookings forecast variance analyses
- Support annual planning process as necessary
- Calculate commissions and perform reconciliations as necessary
- Work with sales teams to ensure pipeline & forecast data is accurate
- Various special projects utilizing finance expertise
- Maintain and enhance detailed management reporting
- Support the tracking of new products sales, top deals, key wins, call volumes, yields and other key performance indicators
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills & Education:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or other business major, MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 3+ years of financial analyst experience
- Advanced understanding of Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, external data ranges) required; understanding of MS Access, SQL, and relational databases a plus
- Comfort with PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Windows XP or later
- Ability to formulate and recommend solutions to senior management that optimizes finance support internally and with the Sales team
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills preferably from experience including data manipulation and statistical analysis skills
- Experience in financial due diligence processes
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the desire to apply those skills in analyzing complex business problems
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross functional, and sometimes highly pressured environment
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
- Software company experience is greatly preferred
- Experience with SAP (FI, BW, HTCM, SD) Hyperion, Essbase, SQL, Oracle CRM (Siebel)
