About the Role and Responsibilities
Location: Plano, TX
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the learning and development leadership teams to identify appropriate technology solutions and coach on their implementation promoting overall company's goals of streamlined efficiency and clear direction
- Assess capabilities, strengths and weaknesses of e-learning development tools and delivery systems (existing and new)
- Research and advise on new web technologies and theories that could be used to facilitate social, mobile and collaborative learning within company
- Conduct research and advise the learning groups which tools are the most appropriate for a project or business need
- Create and execute user acceptance plans for learning technologies
- Manage and assist in implementations of technologies i.e., Web services, Virtual Instructor Led Training, Virtual Labs, Document Collaboration, Team Calendars, etc
- Train and coach the learning groups on the use of the technology tools, such as Captivate, SharePoint, SoftSim, etc
- Facilitate cross-business line collaboration to develop learning delivery strategies
- Participate in the creation of governance policies and procedures
- Research and review industry data to keep company's direction current on strategies and trends in learning technology
Qualifications
Required Experience, Skills & Education:
- A strategic thinker with extensive experience in instructional design, web based and networking technologies
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, and strong planning and project management skills
- Minimum 5-10+ years experience in the following:
- Instructional design
- Instructor-led and e-Learning delivery
- Project Management
- Back office integrations
- Server platforms
- Internet Technologies
- Strong computing skills in Windows, Linux and Mac Desktop/Server technologies
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, hardware, protocols, LAN configuration, security architectures and LAN/WAN technologies
- Network experience with the following protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, SMTP
- Strong knowledge of security hardware, software, and management platforms with knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, upgrading, integration, and client/server operations
- Solid knowledge of the use and configuration of virtual environments such as VMware
- Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
