About the Role:


The Accounting Manager will ensure General Ledger tasks are completed and reviewed in an accurate and timely manner. The Manger will be responsible for reviewing corporate reconciliations, journal entries and assist in completing the month and quarter end close process. They will provide documentation as requested from internal or external auditors and aide in the proper documentation and validation of procedures to ensure SOX compliance. The Accounting Manager will report to an Accounting Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure that assigned accounts are reconciled, reviewed, and narratives are prepared for variance analysis.
- Accounts will focus on accruals, fixed assets, compensation related expenses, and Accounts Payable support among other things
- Prepares monthly reports in a timely manner and assist in report development
- Analyze and review assigned accounts and reconciliations
- Provide recommendations for improvement of accounting processes and document procedures
- Manage and develop small team of direct reports
- Assist in providing data and analysis for internal and external customers
- Assist with internal reporting
- Special projects as assigned
- Develop, interpret, and ensure the consistent application of organization policies
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
- 5-8 years’ experience in accounting department
- Experience managing team
- Must be proficient with PC software such as MS Office
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP is preferred
- Experience with Hyperion systems is preferred
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexible and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
